Back from a congress were she was showcasing her experimental therapies with sex surrogates, Sophie realizes her boyfriend from ten years has disappeared. A stranger is there instead, Alex, a seductive sex addict who wants to become her patient, or so he says. Strangely, he looks exactly like one of Nicolas' adult cartoon character. He drives her through the night, looking out for Nicolas. Together, they encounter each member of her disfonctionnal family, all in the verge of a nervous breakdown, end up taking care of her sister's young daughter, go out to swingers club, confront Nicolas' ex mistress and have a singular encounter with Sophie's brother. Each time people tell her things about her boyfriend - and about herself. All these experiences make her question herself. When she does find back Nicolas, will she have change enough to catch up with him? Or too much?
