A major rewrite has been completed in the Fall of 2008, following the Namur Festival coproduction workshop in 2007 where it was the only Canadian project selected. |

Synopsis :
The story of Nouvelle-France's first executioner. A tale based on a historical true story as reported in the Jesuite's writings at the beginning of the colony. In 1648, in Ville-Marie, an army drummer is caught right-handed committing a crime of sodomy and condemned to a death sentence. Thanks to an intervention from the Jesuites, his sentence is commuted to the gallows, which he gets away from by accepting the job of the executioner.
